Eventing (also known as Horse Trials) is an equestrian event where a single horse and rider combination compete against others across three very different disciplines,  Dressage (a pre set test of  movements in a 60m x 20m arena), Cross-Country (jumping  fixed jumps across the countryside over a set course ) and Showjumping (jumping in an arena over jumps that have rails that canfall down). The rider with the least penalty points over the three phases ins the winner.

Sydney 3 Day Event (3DE)  has many levels of competition with the highest being 4 star.
