What is the format of the Young Event Horse competition?
Classes are scheduled for Friday 27 Aug
Top two places in each class are eligible for the Champion
Round to be held a the of the day
The format will be the same as the Young Event Horse classes
held at the Weekend of Equestrian World Cups (not the format
we used at syd 3DE last year)
• You will enter arena
• Judge will give you a short work out to do (walk, trot
,canter) you will then jump a round of about 10 jumps
(8 show jumps and 2 cross country jumps i.e. fixed) - max
height is as per schedule for each age group - plus do
a gallop
• The horses conformation and type will be judged while
you are riding
• All up takes about 6 minutes roughly
You DO NOT do dressage test
Judges have not been confirmed yet
If your horse is being stabled you need to arrive between
the designated times as shown in attached schedule and
have the horse's health check before you enter
If you are just coming for the day then no need to have
horse checked by vet
The horse does not have to be registered with EA - but
you do need some form of identification papers
The rider MUST be registered with EA
